This is a little section about who I am, since the rest of the site is
not really about my personal life.
For those of you that are totally oblivious to the rest of the site, my name
is Nathan Lazur. (And no, not the *other* Nathan Lazur who
goes to CMU and who happens to be the same age as me!) I was born in
snowy Rutland, Vermont, U.S.A. on August 22nd, 1982!
But I didn't live in Vermont for very long. In fact, before living in Florida
for 11 years, I bustled my way around the eastern seabord of the U.S. -- living in places
such as North Carolina (Charlotte, Cherokee, Fayetteville), New Jersey, South Carolina, Montreal (Canada),
and now, Los Angeles.
I am currently residing in Los Angeles, California working as a graphics/effects programmer
for Pandemic Studios. The people and projects at Pandemic are a fresh breath of air and I am eager to
prove my worth. The area around Pandemic is also great. Westwood has THE best weather I've ever seen
and I've lived in a lot places. :)
Obviously, I'm an avid gamer. Probably not as much before because I make games for a living,
but I think games are starting to become more of an artform that now technology is steadily progressing.
My favorite game genres are Role Playing Games (RPGs), Fighting Games, First Person
Shooters, and Side Scrollers.
As far as my taste in music is goes, I have more of an appeciation for non-lyrical
music. Not suprising since I played the viola and violin when I was younger.
Believe it or not, my favorite composers (Yasunori Mitsuda
and Nobou Uematsu) aren't known
around the classical music industry but rather the videogame industry. I guess my
addiction to videogames made me appreciate the awesome expression that could be reached
through non-lyrical music.
I also am a big sports fan. I love to watch the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. Naturally, since I lived in Tampa
for a long time, my favorite NFL team are the Buccaneers.
I also like to play all kinds of sports (tennis, football, baseball, basketball).
In fact, I think if I would of stayed with it, I would probably be playing sports for a
living instead of being a computer programmer. I also *love* hiking and
camping, even though I only do it when I visit my Father.
